Kenneth L. McDade, 68, of Emlenton, died Saturday, January 29, 2011, at UPMC Presbyterian in Pittsburgh, following complications of a stroke.

Ken was born on May 10, 1942 in Pittsburgh, the son of the late Clyde McDade and Mabel Conklin McDade.

Peter J. Schill, 81 of Eastwood Drive, Clarion, died Friday, January 28, 2011, at the Jefferson Manor in Brookville, PA.

Born on January 3, 1930 in Snydersburg, PA, he was the son of the late Frank X. Schill and Bertha M. Griebel Schill.

He was married on June 19, 1954 to the former Germaine E. Strickenberger, who survives.

He and his wife introduced pizza to Clarion in 1960 when they opened the Harry’s Pizza Shop on Main Street in Clarion at the site of the current Immaculate Conception Church. They also owned and operated Harry’s Pizza Shops in Oil City, Reynoldsville and Punxsutawney. In 1973, they opened the Pizza Pub in Clarion, which remains a family business.

Mr. Schill was employed by Owens Illinois in Clarion for 38 years. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Clarion. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Order number 4216 of Lucinda, Trout Unlimited, and the Antler Club of Lucinda.

Pete was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and introduced this passion to his children and grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He especially enjoyed spending time with family at his camp in Snydersburg, PA. Pete was an enthusiastic card player, and especially enjoyed playing euchre and kings in the corner with family and friends.
He coached numerous youth baseball teams and was an avid Pirates, Steelers and Notre Dame fan. He especially enjoyed attending his children and grandchildren’s many sporting events.

His love of travel and adventuresome spirit led Pete, Germaine and his family to extensive travel around the country and overseas.

Family was very important to Pete and he always had a special place in his heart for his many nieces and nephews. He always had a smile on his face and was a passionate lover of chocolate ice cream.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by six children: Ray Schill and wife Laura of Philadelphia; Donna Haney and husband Jim of Brookville, Dan Schill and wife Karol of Boise, Idaho; Karen Raybuck and husband Ken of Fairmont City; Mike Schill and wife Jean of Lucinda; and Tom Schill of Bend Oregon.

He is also survived by a brother, Rev. Paul Schill of Greenville, PA and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings Agnes Kerle, Raymond Schill, Bernard Schill, Jerome Schill, Helen Miller, Stella Zacherl, Hilda Zacherl, Sister Edna Schill and Bernice Bowser.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, February 1, 2011, at the Robert V. Burns Funeral Home, 638 Wood Street, Clarion.

A Christian wake service will be held at 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 1, 2011, at the funeral home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at the Immaculate Conception Church in Clarion with Pete’s nephew, Rev. Matthew Strickenberger presiding. His brother, Rev. Paul Schill and Rev. Monty Sayers will concelebrate.

Interment will be held in the St. Joseph Church Cemetery in Lucinda.

The family suggests memorials be made to Charitable Deeds, 98 Hickory Nut Lane, Knox, PA 16232.

Raymond R. Lutz, 79, of Fisher Sigel Road, Sigel, died Saturday, January 29, 2011, at the Golden Living Center in Shippenville.
Born September 24, 1931, in Trafford, PA, he was the son of the late Frank and Blanch Conway Lutz.

A veteran, Mr. Lutz served in the Army.

He was married on November 18, 1952 to the former Helen Baer, she survives.

Mr. Lutz worked for General Motors Parma Plant in Ohio as a die setter.

He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Clarion.

Mr. Lutz was also a member of the VFW in Clarion.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching baseball and football.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Bernice Clark and her husband, John, of Twinsburg, OH; a son, Raymond A. Lutz of Cook Forest; three grandchildren, Cassondra Marie Clark and Amber Renee Clark, both of Twinsburg, OH; and John Wayne Lutz of Cook Forest; and one great granddaughter, Sierra Rae Cook of Twinsburg, OH.

Also surviving is one brother, Lawrence Lutz and his friend, Janet, of Mt. Pleasant.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Ralph Lutz, Lester Lutz, Glenn Lutz, and an infant; two sisters, Gladys Cimprich and an infant; and one grandson, Timothy Daniel Lutz.

Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, February 1, 2011, at the Robert V. Burns Funeral Home, 638 Wood Street, Clarion.

Christian wake service will be at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 1, 2011, in the funeral home.

Military honors will be accorded by American Legion Post 66 at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 2, 2011, in the funeral home.

Mass of Christian burial will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, February 2, 2011, at the Immaculate Conception Church in Clarion with Rev. Monty Sayers, pastor of the Immaculate Conception Church, presiding.

Interment will be held in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
