Linda Zafuto, 70, of 9100 Rt. 957, Sugar Grove, Pa., and formally of Tionesta, Pa., died Thursday February 24, 2011 at the Warren General Hospital.

Linda was born October 7th, 1940 to the late Roy & Joan Johnston. She lived in Tionesta most of her life until moving to Sugar Grove in 2005. She enjoyed cooking, reading, and going to the Sugar Grove American Legion with her best friend and grand daughter Keely.

She is survived by her children Amy & Dave Pudder of Sugar Grove, Pa., Ryan & Katy Zafuto of Hazen, Pa., her brother Jim & Kathleen Johnston, six grandchildren Keely, Megan, Kassie, Tamara, Dustin, & Tom, her nephew Brendon, and niece Shannon, and her beloved dog Rhoda.

Friends are invited to a casual memorial service on Tuesday March 1, 2011, at the Sugar Grove American Legion at 6:00 p.m. The Rev. Annette Gerber, pastor of the Evangelical United Methodist Church in Youngsville will officiate.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the Sugar Grove library.

Hugh R. “Dick” Scott, 89, of Pearl Street, Emlenton, died unexpectedly early Friday morning, February 25, 2011, at his home.

Mr. Scott was born on October 4, 1921, in Library, Allegheny County. He was the son of Hugh B. and Helen Wach Scott.

He was a Sgt. in the U.S. Army Air Force and served his country in World War II.

Mr. Scott was a member of the Emlenton Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed playing the keyboard, working in his garden, and helping his neighbors. He was an excellent craftsman who made beautiful furniture.

He was employed for many years as a mechanic at Bishop Motors and Long Motors in Emlenton.

He is survived by his wife, Jean Merchant Scott, whom he married in Emlenton on October 24, 1952. Also surviving is a son, Hugh R. “Rick” Scott Jr. of Emlenton; a daughter, Margaret “Peggy” Hemphill of Manorville; three grandchildren, Marianne Reilley and her husband, James, of Pittsburgh, Miranda Scott of Emlenton, and Mark Hemphill and his wife, Crystal, of Clintonville; three great grandchildren, Logan James Riley of Pittsburgh, Corbin J. Scott of Emlenton, and Addison Hemphill of Clintonville; two step grandchildren, Danielle Llamas and Aaron Evers of Washington; two brothers, Blake Scott of Petrolia and Robert Scott and his wife, Catherine, of Grove City, as well as a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

He was preceded in death by a son, Joseph Kusick, who was killed in action in Vietnam, one brother, Arnold Scott, and two sisters, Evelyn Savage and Alma Douglass.

Friends will be received at the Hile Funeral Home Inc., 1204 Kerr Avenue, Emlenton, from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. Sunday. Funeral services will be held from the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. Monday with Rev. Lori Danielson, pastor of the Emlenton Presbyterian Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Crawford Memorial Cemetery, Emlenton.
