Joseph H. Ferrari, age 93, of Brockway, PA formerly of Conneration passed away at Parkside Elder Care in Brockway on Wednesday, January 25, 2012.

He was born in Sarah Furnace on March 24, 1918, the son of Louis and Mary (Magnani) Ferrari.

Joe resided in the area his whole life until 2010 when he moved to Parkside. He married Dorothy Forsythe in 1950. He honorably served his country in the US Navy. Joe worked as a track machinist for the railroads for over 30 years, beginning with the PA Railroad, then Penn Central, and lastly Consolidated Rail Corporation. Many may remember Joe from Sarah Furnace and the family farm providing dairy products to area residents. Life on the farm taught him the value of a hard day’s work, a strong work ethic, and unwavering support of family and friends that continued throughout his life of which he proudly modeled for his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his two children; his son, Dennis Ferrari and his wife, Sandy of Clearfield, PA and his daughter, Deborah Senard and her husband Steven of Mauee, OH; three grandchildren, Marisa Rothrock, Nicole Maines, and Theresa Luzier; 10 great-grandchildren, and his brother, Leo Ferrari of Pittsburgh.
