MADISON TWP., Pa. – Clarion-based state police have released details from a hit-and-run accident that took place last week in Madison Township.

Police said a 17-year-old Emlenton girl was traveling south on Conneration Road at approximately 3:30 a.m. on 1/22/12 when she lost control of her vehicle while attempting to negotiate a turn.

After sliding off the roadway, the vehicle struck an embankment on the west side of the road.

The vehicle then struck an embankment on the east side of the roadway and traveled approximately 200 feet down a hill before rolling over.

Police said the driver and a passenger, William Ridenbaugh, 21, Parker, stayed in the truck “until dawn” and then fled the scene.

The driver sustained moderate injuries in the crash.

Ridenbaugh was not injured.
