Karns City Teen Falls Asleep, Crashes Near Barkeyville

BARKEYVILLE, Pa. – A 19-year-old Karns City woman fell asleep at the wheel, causing an accident early Wednesday morning in Venango County.

Police tell exploreClarion.com that Jennifer Dennett-Pickett, 19, Karns City, was traveling north on SR-8 in Barkeyville Borough and was approaching the on-ramp for I-80 east-bound when she fell asleep at the wheel.

Dennett-Pickett’s vehicle left the roadway and crossed the west end of the ramp.

The vehicle’s front bumper then struck a guide rail and came to a rest on the on-ramp.

Dennett-Pickett, who was not injured in the crash, was cited for careless driving.
