Glenn L. McClelland

Glenn L. McClelland, 85, of Taylor Street, Franklin, died at 12:45 p.m. on Thursday, February 2, 2012 at UPMC Northwest in Seneca.

Born September 3, 1926 in Franklin, PA, he was the son of the late Aaron and Grace Smith McClelland.

Mr. McClelland served in the Army during World War II and was stationed in the Philippines. He earned the Good Conduct Medal, the Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon, the Philippine Liberation Ribbon, and the World War II Victory Ribbon.

He worked as a Supervisor for 37 ½ years at Miller Equipment until his retirement in 1987. He attended the Victory Heights United Brethren in Christ Church and enjoyed bowling, fishing, hunting, and cutting wood.

Glenn was married on June 1, 1951 to the former Marilyn Cauvel, who survives.

He is also survived by his two children, Charles McClelland and his fiancée Priscilla Eck of Franklin and Michelle Colosimo and her husband, Anthony of Boyers, PA; three grandchildren, Nicholas Knauf and his fiancée, Brenda McVay of Franklin, Tyler Knauf of New York, NY, and Kyle Knauf of Boyers; two great-grandchildren, Diamond Rose Knauf and Cyrus James Knauf, both of Franklin; a brother, Wilbur McClelland and his wife, Marilyn A. of Franklin.; three sisters, Margie Keller of Franklin, Wilda McClelland of Franklin and Phyllis McClelland of Franklin; a sister-in-law, Margaret McClelland of Franklin; and a brother-in-law, Robert McElhenney of Harrisville.

In addition to his parents, Glenn was preceded in death by his brother, Wayne McClelland and his sister, Doris McElhenney.

Friends will be received at the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin, on Sunday, February 5, 2012 from 2-4 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the Funeral Home, following visitation, at 4 p.m. on Sunday with the Rev. Steve Henry of the Victory Heights United Brethren in Christ Church and the Rev. Roger Overmyer co-officiating. Military honors will be accorded by the V.E.T.S. Honor Guard.

Interment will take place in Rockland Cemetery.

The family suggests memorials be made to the V.E.T.S. Honor Guard, 411 Ninth Street, Franklin, PA 16323.
