Mark Douglas “Doug” Reed

Mark Douglas “Doug” Reed of Miola, age 58, passed away on February 2, 2012 at the Clarion Hospital after an extended illness.

Mr. Reed was born on March 24, 1953 in Miola, a son of Leslie Reed Sr. and Mary Sherman. He was married on September 16, 1969 to the former Nellie “Sox” Miller, who survives.

Prior to being disabled, Doug worked at JM Leasing as a mechanic. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working on cars. He treasured spending time with his grandchildren and woodworking.

In addition to his wife of 42 years, Nellie, he is survived by his daughter Gloria (Daniel) Lambing and their son, Mark, of Miola. He is also survived by his grandsons; Joel Lee Best, Jr and John Boback; granddaughters Amanda Ion and Heather Boback; his sister, Bernice McClain of Miola; and a brother Leslie (Lori) Reed Jr, of Strattanville and numerous nieces and nephews. Additionally, his sisters-in-law Betty Anderson of Knox, Mary Oglesby of North Carolina, and Dorothy Nestor of Maryland survive.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-mother Martha Reed, his daughter Jill Diane Eselman, brother-in-law Carl McClain, and nephew John Lockwood.

Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 pm on Sunday, February 5 at the Goble Funeral Home and Crematory in Clarion. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Monday, February 6 in the funeral home, with Marsha Mahle of Miola Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will follow in the Miola Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Doug’s memory by sending them to the Reed Family, 710 Reed Road, Clarion PA 16214.

Friends and family may leave online condolences; send sympathy cards or flowers by visiting the Goble Funeral Home and Crematory website at www.goblefh.net .
