Rimersburg Woman Falls Victim to Identity Theft; Police Receive Several Other Reports of Scam

CLARION, Pa. – A 69-year-old Rimersburg woman has fallen victim to identity theft.

Police tell exploreClarion.com that someone filed an online tax return using a 69-year-old Rimersburg woman’s social security number and attempted to have the return sent to an unknown location.

The incident occurred on 2/2/12.

Police report receiving several complaints of this scam recently.
