WALTER VERNON DAUGHERTY, Lifelong-farmer, devoted brother and uncle
Walter Vernon Daugherty, 73, of Fisher-Strattanville Road, Strattanville, passed away on February 10, 2012, at Clarion Hospital.

Born July 13, 1938, on the family farm in Millcreek Township, Clarion County, he was a son of John Shirley Daugherty and Ruth Barton Henry Daugherty.

He attended Millcreek Township Consolidated Schools and Clarion-Limestone High School.

Walter was a life-long farmer and also worked for Millcreek Gas and Oil Company. He also formerly served as a Millcreek Township supervisor and caretaker of the Millcreek Presbyterian and Methodist cemeteries.

He was a member of the Millcreek Presbyterian Church in Fisher where he was an active member.

Walter enjoyed reading, especially books and magazines about farm tractors and the Civil War. He also was an avid sports fan, listening to baseball, basketball, football and hockey games on his radio. He loved being a farmer and enjoyed taking long walks.

He was very artistically gifted. From the time he was young, he could take a piece of cardboard and a pair of scissors and cut out all kinds of realistic-looking farm animals, all without patterns.

Walter was well known for his remarkable memory.

He was devoted to his family.

Surviving are two brothers, John B. Daugherty and his wife, June, of Buckhannon, W.VA, and Gerald W. Daugherty and his wife, Elaine, of Summerville; a sister, Shirley R. McKinley and her husband, John of Clarion; a sister-in-law, Ellen Himes Daugherty of Clarion and number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to his parents, two brothers, Robert M. Daugherty and Kenneth C. Daugherty; a sister-in-law, Joann V. Daugherty, and two nephews, Richard Daugherty and Frederick Daugherty, preceded him in death.

A memorial service will be held at the Millcreek Presbyterian Church in Fisher at 2:00 PM on Sunday, February 12, 2012.

Memorials may be made to the Millcreek Presbyterian Church, PO Box 57, Fisher, PA 16255; or a charity of the donor’s choice.

Friends and family may leave online condolences or sympathy cards by visiting the Goble Funeral Home and Crematory website at www.goblefh.net.

An additional issue is that video games are usually serious naturally with the main focus on understanding rather than entertainment. Although, it comes with an entertainment part to keep your kids engaged, each and every game is normally designed to focus on a specific skill set or course, such as mathematics or science. Thanks for your post.

I think that what you said made a bunch of sense. But, think about this, suppose you wrote a catchier post title? I am not suggesting your content isn’t solid, but what if you added a title that grabbed folk’s attention? I mean Walter Vernon Daugherty :: Explore Clarion is kinda plain. You ought to look at Yahoo’s home page and watch how they create news headlines to get viewers to open the links. You might add a video or a picture or two to grab readers interested about what you’ve written. Just my opinion, it would bring your posts a little livelier.
