Jo Anne Rex

Jo Anne Rex, age 53, of Knox, passed from this life into the next late Friday evening, February 10, 2012, while a patient at UPMC Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Born September 28, 1958 in Clarion, she was a daughter of the late Frank H. and Isabelle O’Neil Rex.

Jo Anne was a graduate of Keystone High School in Knox and was a caseworker for the Clarion office of the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare.

She attended the Trinity Evangelical Congregational Church at Fern and was a past treasurer of the church. She enjoyed scrap booking, working on her computer, playing games and putting together puzzles.

She treasured her time spent with her nieces and nephews and had a great love of animals, which showed in the attention and loving care she gave to her dogs, Elliott and Zoey and cats, Cubbie and Tucker.

Jo Anne is survived by her son, Jeremy Rex of Tampa, Florida; brothers and sisters: Henry Rex of Elmo; Joyce Switzer and her husband, Les, of Knox; Judy Duffee and her husband, Gary, also of Knox and Tom Rex and his wife, Brenda, of Shippenville. She is also survived by her two nieces, Alesha Duffee and Missy Plummer; three nephews, Ed, Jesse and Josh Eberhart; four great nieces, Emma, Isabella, Addison and Josie; great nephew, Laughlin and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Joseph and Gertrude Mahle Rex and Lawrence and Hazel Hurrelbrink O’Neil.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at the William N. Rupert Mortuary, Inc., 430 Mendenhall Avenue, Knox.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 15, 2012 in the funeral home. Reverend Mark Micklos, pastor at Trinity Evangelical Congregational Church at Fern, will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Starr Cemetery in Ashland Township, Clarion County.

Memorial contributions may be given in the name of Jo Anne Rex to: Trinity Evangelical Congregational Church at Fern, 592 Umstead Road, Cranberry, PA 16319.
