FRYBURG, Pa. – Police have released details on a crash that shut down a portion of SR-208 in Fryburg earlier today.

State police in Marienville tell exploreClarion.com that Paul McCauley, 72, Venus, “apparently fell asleep at the wheel” while traveling west on SR-208 in Washington Twp. at approximately 3:02 p.m. today.

McCauley’s 1992 Dodge Ram van traveled through a residential lawn and struck a Central Electric utility pole which broke upon impact.

The vehicle then traveled a short distance and came to rest with high-tension electric lines on top of its roof.

Police said rescue crews had to wait for electric company personnel to arrive on the scene and shut the electric off before attending to Mr. McCauley who complained of chest pains.

Mr. McCauley was transported to UPMC Northwest for treatment of minor injuries.

The road was closed for approximately 1.5 hours after the crash.

Washington Twp. VFD, Clarion Ambulance, Central Electric, and Penelec assisted at the scene.

  1. I love this kind of articles and I find amusing, sometimes .. I see that this site is good site

  2. I was just looking for this information for a while. After 6 hours of continuous Googleing, at last I got it in your site. I wonder what is the lack of Google strategy that don’t rank this type of informative sites in top of the list. Generally the top websites are full of garbage.
