Rose V. Henry

Rose V. Henry, age 89, of Knox died early Monday morning, February 13, 2012 at UPMC Seneca following a brief illness.

Born June 24, 1922 in Knox, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Freda Etzel Whitling.

On August 15, 1940, in Winchester, Virginia, she married Edgar L. Henry.

She retired from Knox Glass, where she was a clerk.

Rose was a member of the Mt. Joy United Methodist Church in Beaver Township, Clarion County and was also a member of Order of the Eastern Star, receiving her 50 year pin in 2011.

She enjoyed traveling.

She is survived by her husband, Edgar, their two daughters: Carol Runninger of Kittanning and Joanne Brothers and her husband, Craig, of Emlenton; four grandchildren: Donna Livengood of Kittanning; Barbara Brown and her husband, David, of Prospect; Kimberly Slaugenhaupt of Knox and John Brothers and his wife, Angie, of Johnson City, Tennessee; nine great grandchildren: Stephen, Rebecca, Amanda, LeeAnn, Alexander, Todd, Lauren, Braeden and Brooklyn; three great great grandchildren: Adelaide, Liam and Cecelia.

Also surviving are her two brothers: Ray Whitling and his wife, Mary, of Knox and John Whitling and his wife, Mary Ann, of Lucinda.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant grandson.

Friends will be received from 10 a.m. to Noon on Saturday, February 18, 2012 at the Mt. Joy United Methodist Church, 159 Mt. Joy Road, Knox.

Funeral services will follow at Noon on Saturday, in the church. Reverend Dan Myers, pastor at Mt. Joy, will officiate.
Interment will follow in the Mt. Joy United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be given in the name of Rose V. Henry to: Mt. Joy United Methodist Church, 159 Mt. Joy Road, Knox, PA 16232.
