Bradley Dean Sheatz

Bradley Dean Sheatz, 46, of Seneca, died at 5:15 a.m. on Friday, February 17, 2012 at UPMC Northwest in Seneca.

Born October 7, 1965 in Franklin, he was the son of Carol Shaffer Sheatz of Seneca and the late Dean L. Sheatz.

He was a 1983 graduate of Cranberry High School and then earned an associate degree in computer aided drafting and design from the Triangle Technical Institute in Erie.

He served in the national guard for six years.

Brad enjoyed camping and cooking, playing softball, participating in the Oil City pool league, and bowling. He loved dirt track racing and was a talented engine builder for several local race car teams.

He was employed as a mechanical draftsman for both Joy Manufacturing and Conair.

He is survived by his mother, Carol Sheatz of Seneca; a daughter, Brooke Sheatz of Oil City; a sister, Lisa Sheatz Straub and husband John of Pleasantville; a brother, Chad Sheatz and Jenny Horn of Oil City; his maternal grandmother, Pauline Shaffer of Cranberry; and the following nieces and nephews: Kelsi and Sydney Straub, Elizabeth Horn, and Connor and Adalyn Sheatz.

He is also survived by aunts and uncles including Willard “Bugs” Sheatz and wife Jean, Nancy Schiffer and husband Eugene, and Louise Carrier Sheatz.

He was preceded in death by his father, Dean L. Sheatz, his maternal grandfather, Shurl Shaffer, paternal grandparents, Willard and Ruth Clark Sheatz, an uncle, Wayne Sheatz, and an uncle and aunt, Jite and Marian Sheatz Huston.

A service to celebrate Brad’s life will be held Monday (Feb. 20th) at 7 p.m. in the Hile-Best Funeral Home, Inc., 2781 Rte. 257 in Seneca, Cranberry Township. Rev. Clara Kohlmeyer will officiate.

A time of visitation will follow the service until 9 p.m.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Hile-Best Funeral Home, PO Box 245, Seneca, PA 16346, to help defray funeral expenses.
