Marienville Man Injured in Hit-and-Run Crash

MARIENVILLE, Pa. (EYT) – A 65-year-old Marienville man was injured in a hit-and-run accident that took place early yesterday morning in Barnett Township, Forest County.

Marienville-based State Police said Thomas C. Maynard, 65, Marienville, fell asleep at the wheel while traveling north on SR-899 in Barnett Township around 3:30 a.m. on Saturday.

Police said Maynard’s vehicle struck the guide rails and an embankment before flipping onto its roof.

According to police, Maynard then exited the vehicle and fled the scene on foot.

Maynard, who sustained moderate injuries in the crash, was cited for Careless Driving.
