EDINBORO, Pa. – Despite four players reaching double figures for the first time in a month, the Clarion University men’s basketball team dropped an 81-63 decision at Edinboro Saturday afternoon.

Corey Bellovich (13 points), Marques Jones (12 points), Mike Kromka (11 points) and Anthony Baker (11 points) all reach double figures, and Clarion shot over 40 percent for the second straight game but couldn’t stay with Edinboro in the second half of the second half.

Clarion (6-19 overall, 4-17 PSAC West) trailed by just two, 52-50, with 10 minutes to play before a 9-0 Edinboro run opened the game to 11 points, 61-50, with 7:37 left.

The Golden Eagles were still within nine, 63-54, with 6:47 to go after an Aaron Johnson basket, but Edinboro put the contest away with a 13-2 run.

Bryan Theriot, who missed the first game of the year between the teams, had a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds to lead Edinboro (16-9, 12-9). Jay Fletcher added 17 points, Isaiah Prince added 11 points and nine points and Xavier Churnac had 12 points and five rebounds.

Clarion closes out its season at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday when it hosts California on Senior Night. The Golden Eagles will honor Drew Vandermeer, Leonard Patterson, David Colbert and Calvin Edwards.

NOTES – Clarion last had four players reach double digits in a win over Lock Haven Jan. 23.
