Vehicle Crashes into Tree & Rolls Over in Limestone Township, Driver Flees Scene

LIMESTONE TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – State police in Clarion responded to one-vehicle accident in Limestone Township around 2:34 a.m. on February 21.

Police say 36-year-old John D. Shofestall of Corsica was traveling north on Olean Trail and failed to negotiate a right bend in the roadway, causing his 2004 Dodge Ram to travel off the west side of the road.

The front driver’s corner of the vehicle struck a tree causing severe damage to the vehicle, according to police.

After impact with the tree, the vehicle rolled onto its passenger side, police say.

According to police, Shofestall fled the scene.

He was charged through District Court 18-3-01 with VC 3301 driving on right side of roadway; VC 3714 careless driving; VC 1501 drivers required to be licensed; and VC 3746 immediate notice of accident.
