Local Crews Battle Fire at Clarion Industries

SHIPPENVILLE, Pa. (EYT) — Local fire crews responded to the scene of a fire at Clarion Industries in Shippenville on Thursday afternoon.

Officials say the fire broke out around 1:00 p.m. at Clarion Industries fiberboard plant located at 143 Fiberboard Road, just off Route 322 in Shippenville.

“The fire was in the drying system,” said Shippenville-Elk Township VFD Chief Jeremy Hallberg. “Everything was contained within duct work.”

Crews from Shippenville-Elk Township VFD, Washington Township VFD, Knox Volunteer Fire Co., Clarion Fire & Hose Co. No. 1, Emlenton VFD Rapid Intervention Team, and Shippenville-Elk Ambulance responded to the scene.

No one was injured in the fire.
