Team NoWhere Wins Three out of Four; Abdurakhmonov New Lightweight Champion, Wiant Holds Title

Bek-1Bekzod Abdurakhmonov, of Team Nowhere, becomes the new Brawl Room MMA lightweight champion.

Local MMA Team NoWhere, had a successful night at their last event on Saturday, June 8, at Summer Brawl II Mixed Martial Arts Fighting in Campbell, Ohio.

They won three out of four of their matches.

Team NoWhere’s coach, Tracy Wiant, of New Bethlehem, told exploreClarion.com, “It was a great night. We had some hard fights, and the team did well.”

Team NoWhere’s fighters on the card were:

Bekzod Abdurahkmonov vs Josh Hilliard
Garrett Dush vs Sean Cogswell
Jen L’Insalata vs Esther Graves
Mark Wiant – defending his title against Mike Noble

Bekzod Abdurahkmonov

On left, Bekzod Abdurakhmonov, Team Nowhere, vs Josh Hilliard.

Bekzod Abdurakhmonov was a student at Clarion University but now resides in Boston.

He fought against 8-3 Josh Hilliard from Grappling House, Ohio.

Bek won by tko 1:03 into Round 3 to improve his record to 5-0 and become the new Brawl Room MMA lightweight champion.

Bek is the third amateur champion from Team NoWhere’s gym.

Garrett Dush

On right, Garrett Dush, Team Nowhere, vs Sean Cogswell.

Garrett Dush from Clarion went against debuting fighter Sean Cogswell from Wrecking Crew Jiu Jitsu out of New Castle, Pa.

Garrett won by submission 2:28 into Round 1 to improve his record to 2-2.

Jen L’Insalata

Jen L’Insalata, Team Nowhere.

Jen L’Insalata from Clarion fought Esther Graves from Prodigy MMA in Erie, Pa.

Both girls were making their debut.

There were some good strikes thrown, says Tracy Wiant.

With Jen having a Muay Thai background and Esther being a wrestler, Esther was able to take Jen down and win by submission in Round 1.

Jen was the first female fight for Team NoWhere.

On right, Mark Wiant vs Mike Noble.

Mark Wiant (known as Crazy Legs), of New Bethlehem, took on Mike Noble from Non Stop MMA out of Erie Pa.

Mark, Team NoWhere’s second champion, had a record of 8-3 and was the current Brawl Room MMA Light Heavyweight Champion.

Mike Noble stepped up and took the fight on 2 weeks notice, so making weight was an issue, says Tracy Wiant.

Mike weighed 225 pounds, but Mark, at 205, still accepted the fight.

Mark won by submission 1:35 into Round 2 to improve his record to 9-3 and stay Brawl Room MMA Light Heavyweight Champion.
