State Police Respond to I-80 Tractor-Trailer Fire

PINE CREEK TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Punxsutawney-based State Police responded to an incident involving a tractor-trailer fire on Interstate 80 early this morning.

Police say a 2006 Freightliner operated by 58-year-old Richard A. Sikorski, of Largo, Fl. was traveling east on I-80 near mile marker 82.4 when the vehicle’s trailer caught fire.

The fire appeared to be caused by overheated brakes, police say.

No injuries were reported.

The investigation is ongoing and charges are pending, according to police.
