HOWE TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) — Marienville-based State Police say a one-vehicle accident occurred this morning around 9:47 a.m., on State Route 66, in Howe Township, Forest County.

According to police, 19-year-old Megan L. Dunkle, of Kane, was traveling south along SR 66 and attempted to negotiate a downhill, right-hand curve in the roadway.

She lost control of her 2006 Dodge Caravan on the snow-covered roads, slid sideways off the east berm of the roadway, and impacted an embankment with the front of the vehicle.

The vehicle traveled south approximately 117′ before coming to a final rest on its driver’s side facing north.

Dunkle was using a seat belt and suffered moderate injuries.

Clarion Hospital Ambulance Service transported her to Kane Area Hospital.

The vehicle was towed from the scene by Zook Motors.

Dunkle will be charged with a traffic violation with Judge George Gregory of District Court 37-4-03.
