Greg was born in Butler on July 20, 1952. He was the son of the late Steven and Sonia Stefchak Sinkevich.

Greg graduated from Knoch High School and the University of Cincinnati, Ohio. After graduation Greg went to work for Texaco in New Jersey as a Mechanical Engineer. He then came back to the Butler area where he worked for Moonlight Mushroom, Inc., Worthington, as a Mechanical Engineer. He was then promoted to vice-president of Engineering of Sylvan, Inc. in Kittanning.

He attended the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Chicora. Greg was a kind, caring, and generous husband, father and friend and was always concerned for the welfare of others. He was an avid golfer.

Surviving is his wife, Lucinda “Cindy” Boltz Sinkevich, whom he married on September 11, 1982; his sons, Michael and John Sinkevich, at home; two sisters, Tammy Grefe of Saginaw, Michigan and Nancy Branch of Pittsburgh; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Foster and Delores Boltz of East Brady; his sister-in-law, Terri Long of Kittanning; his brothers-in-law, Bob Boltz of Kittanning, Rick Boltz of Worthington, Dennis Boltz of Worthington, Brent Boltz of Dennis, MA, and Nick Kijowski of East Brady; a number of nieces and nephews, and two very special cousins who are like brothers to Greg, John “Sonny” Smolen and Dennis Smolen.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his Uncle Frank “Fritz” Sinkevich, who was like a second father to him, and his sister-in-law, Janine Boltz Kijowski.

Greg passed away surrounded by his loving family and special friends at the Chicora Medical Center. Special thanks for the care, love, and support he received while under the care of New Haven Court, Chicora Medical Center, Amedisys Hospice Care, and Dr. Handler and the staff of Butler Memorial Hospital. You all became an important part of our family.

Friends will be received at the Hile Funeral Home of Chicora, 339 Chicora Fenelton Road, Chicora, from 1 – 3 and 6 – 8 p.m. Thursday.
