Driver Airlifted to Pittsburgh Following Route 36 Rollover Crash

ELDRED, Pa. (EYT) – According to Marienville-based State Police, around 5:13 a.m. on March 30, a one-car accident occurred on PA 36, 33 feet north of Oakdale Road, in Eldred, Jefferson County.

Police say 33-year-old Craig Young, of Punxsutawney, was traveling north on State Route 36 when he lost control of his 2005 Chevrolet Colorado due to slippery road conditions. The Colorado then struck two utility poles overturning.

The vehicle came to a final rest on its roof facing the northbound direction.

Young was using a seat belt and suffered major injuries.

He was transported to Brookville Area Hospital via Jefferson County EMS. He was then flown to UPMC Presbyterian via STAT Medivac for further treatment of his injuries.

The Colorado sustained severe damage and was towed from the scene by McPherson Towing.
