His greatest pleasure came when he was coaching his own son on the football field. Rick also enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and hiking with his son. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and football community. Rick touched many children’s lives on the football field, and will always be remembered as “Coach Rick.” He also made a great impact on his coaching staff.

Survivors include his wife, Traci Hoffman Vogan; his son, who was his pride and joy, Nicholas Vogan; one brother, Raymond Vogan, wife Esther; one sister, Kimberly O’Dell, all of Erie; nieces and nephews, Crystal, Richelle, Summer and Michael; and several great-nieces and nephews; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ken and Marty Hoffman, of Franklin; and two brothers-in-law, Douglas and Gregory Hoffman.
