2643951Harley Bontrager, of 10620 Potaka Road Indianapolis, Indiana formerly of Cochranton, passed away at his residence in Indiana on Wednesday evening, April 2, 2014. He was 76.

He was born in Canton, Ohio on August 23, 1937 a son of the late Daniel and Anna Stutzman Bontrager. On April 20, 1958 he married the former Sara Hostetler who survives. Harley had been a lifelong truck driver who retired from IA Construction.

He was a member of the Grace Mennonite Church, Hadley. Following his retirement, Harley took up the hobby of wood working.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, three daughters, Darlene Bontrager of Indianapolis, Debbie Bontrager and her husband Joe Butterbaugh of Conneaut Lake and Dorothy Holowell and her husband Delbert of Indianapolis, 5 sisters, Betty McCrone of Hartville, Ohio, Mary Yoder of Harrisonburg, VA, Pauline Eby of Maryland, Norma Jean Bontrager of Hartville, Ohio and Dorothy Bontrager o Arizonia.2 brothers, Paul Bontrager of Hartville, Ohio and Elmer Bontrager of Georgia. 5 grandchildren, Annessa Bontrager, Kaitlyn Bontrager, Matthew Holowell, Joshua Holowell, Zachary Holowell, 2 great grandchildren Tyko Holwell and Finnigan Holowell.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Harley Bontrager, Jr. and Darvin Bontrager, 1 sister Clara Bontrager and a brother Daniel Bontrager, Jr.

The funeral service will be held on Sunday at 2:00 pm at the Cochranton Community Church, 3993 E. Church Street, Cochranton with Samuel Hostetler, minister of the Grace Mennonite Church officiating. The interment will follow at the Maple Grove Mennonite Cemetery, Deer CreeK Twp. Friends may call at the Robert L.
