Upon arrival of the police, 30-year-old William Strohmyer, IV, of Knox, was encountered outside the residence. He allegedly refused to follow commands to drop the weapon and ultimately entered the residence where members of his family were located, according to police.
The family members were able to leave the residence without incident.
Police say Strohmyer allegedly refused several requests to exit the structure and remained inside for approximately 1 1/2 hours before he exited the residence and was taken into custody.
He was arraigned before District Judge Duane Quinn on the following charges:
– Poss Instrument Of Crime W/Intent — Misdemeanor 1
– Terroristic Threats W/ Int To Terrorize Another — Misdemeanor 1
– Recklessly Endangering Another Person — Misdemeanor 2
– Disorderly Conduct Hazardous/Physical Offense — Misdemeanor 3
Strohmyer was placed in the Clarion County Jail on $50,000.00 bail.
A preliminary hearing is set for April 22.
