Shippenville Woman Seriously Injured in Head-on Collision

SENECA, Pa. (EYT) – State Police have released details on a two-vehicle accident on Route 257 that left one woman seriously injured.

State Police in Franklin say 32-year-old Krista L. Ahrens, of Shippenville, was traveling South on Route 257 in her 2011 Volkswagen Jetta when she crossed over a center turn lane and into the northbound lane, colliding head-on with a 2004 Cheverolet Impala opereated by 46-year-old Edward N. Alexander of Oil City.

Ahrens was flown to UPMC Hamot for treatment of major injuries.

Alexander was treated at UPMC Northwest for moderate injuries.

Both vehicles sustained major damage.
