Ray GanoeRaymond A. Ganoe, 72, of Cape Canaveral, Florida, formerly of Clarion, passed away on Thursday, April 10, 2014, in Fleming Island, Florida.

Born on May 3, 1941 in Clarion, he was the son of William E. and Cecilia Aaron Ganoe.

Ray was a 1960 graduate of Clarion-Limestone High School.  He then graduated from Clarion State Collage with a degree in Secondary Science Education.  He taught science at Clarion High School and coached basketball and track.

Ray was a member of Our Savior Catholic Church in Cocoa Beach, Florida.

He was also a charter member and former president of the Merritt Island Breakfast Rotary Club.

Raymond owned and operated Ray’s Tire Center from 1971 to 2012.

He is survived by a son, Steven Ganoe and his wife, Deborah, of Jacksonville, Florida; two daughters, Cheri Ganoe Villa and her husband, Tony, of Manassas, Virginia, and Marcia Ganoe and her partner, Jenni Moehringer, of Seattle, Washington; and seven grandchildren, Mac Ganoe, Jack Ganoe, and Steven Ganoe Jr. of Fleming Island, Florida, Brittney Zeman of Silver Springs, Maryland, Ben Zeman of Virginia Beach, and Aaron and Alese Zeman of Manassas, Virginia.

Also surviving are five siblings, Mary Louise Beichner of Oil City, Dorothy Beichner and her husband, Eugene, of New Castle, Robert Ganoe of Clarion, Kathleen Thompson and her husband, Dick, of Clarion, and Bernard “Bun” Ganoe and his wife, Linda, of Clarion; four sisters-in-law, Nancy Ganoe of Clarion, Gayle Ganoe of Clarion, Donna Ganoe of Fisher, and Nancy Ganoe of Shippenville; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, David Ganoe, William Ganoe, Richard Ganoe, Leo Ganoe, and Edgar Ganoe; and a sister, Claire Marie Leitch.

Family will receive friends from 8 to 10:30 a.m. on Monday, April 14, 2014, at the Robert V. Burns Funeral Home, 638 Wood Street, Clarion.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 14, 2014, at the Immaculate Conception Church in Clarion with Rev. Monty Sayers, pastor of the Immaculate Conception Church, presiding.

Interment will be held at the Immaculate Conception Cemetery Mausoleum.
