Gary ForingerGary “Butch” Foringer, 68, of Sligo, passed away on Monday, April 14, 2014, at the Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Born April 27, 1945, in Porter Township, he was the son of Henry and Alice Miller Foringer.

Butch was a 1963 graduate of Redbank Valley High School.

A veteran, he served in the Army from 1969 to 1971.

He was married on December 23, 1969, to the former Yvonne E. Simpson, and she survives.

Butch first worked for Gourley Meat Packing. He later worked for Karl Drilling and Adobe Mining. He retired as the head dispatcher at Air Ground Express.

He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Clarion and was also a member of the Knights of Columbus #7549.

Butch loved to hunt, build things, and his dog, Lily. He enjoyed planting trees and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a Mr. Fix It.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Ryan G. Foringer and his wife, Kimberly, of New Bethlehem; Alisha Y. Foringer and her fiancé, John Shumaker, of Rimersburg; and Natalie R. Foringer and her fiancé, Brian Hathaway, of Sligo; and four grandchildren, Madison Foringer, Mackenzie Foringer, Maxton Foringer, and Kassia Hathaway.

Also surviving are two brothers, Ronald Foringer and wife, Janet, of New Bethlehem, and Richard Foringer and wife, Verna Lee, of New Bethlehem; brothers-in-law, Robert P. “Bob” Simpson and his wife, Georgia, of Sligo, and Bryant Santini and his wife, Karen, of Arizona; a sister-in-law, Carol Foringer; and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Donald Foringer; a granddaughter, Arianna Foringer; and mother-in-law, Yvette Santini.

Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, April 17, 2014, at the Robert V. Burns Funeral Home, 638 Wood Street, Clarion.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 18, 2014, in the funeral home with Rev. Monty Sayers, pastor of the Immaculate Conception Church, officiating.
Interment will be held in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
