James Michael Ahrens

OI1644388605_ahrensjames001James Michael Ahrens, 60, a resident of the Golden Living Center in Clarion and formerly of Oil City, died Sunday afternoon April 13, 2014 in Clarion after an extended illness.

Born Jan. 24, 1954 in Oil City, PA., he was the son of Colleen J. Smith Ahrens and the late Donald P. Ahrens Sr.

James was a 1972 graduate of Oil City High School.

In his youth, James belonged to the Explorer’s Club and the Boy Scouts.

Later in life he enjoyed gardening, hiking, walking the bike trail, watching studio wrestling and enjoyed sports cars.

He had worked at Heath’s Market, the Oil City Hospital and as an assembler at Oilwell Supply.

In addition to his mother, Colleen J. Ahrens of Oil City, he is survived by a sister, Joyce Schattauer & her husband Fred of Oil City; two brothers, Christopher Ahrens of Ahrensville and Donald P. Ahrens of Oil City. Several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by his father, two sisters, Deborah Lee Ahrens; and an infant sister Mary Frances Ahrens.

Their will be no viewing or visitation.

Memorials may be made to the Venango County Humane Society or to the Samuel Justus Trail c/o Cranberry Twp. 3726 State Route 257 Seneca, PA. 16346
