Joan H. Cangemi

Joan H. Cangemi, 85, of 21 ½ E. Fifth St. Oil City, PA. died at 3:35 P.M. Monday April 14, 2014

at the Golden Living Center in Oil City after an extended illness.

Born April 23, 1928 in Oil City, PA., she was the daughter of the late Harold L. Smith & Marian Weaver Smith.

Joan was a graduate of Oil City High School.

She was married on July 27, 1957 in St. Joseph Church to Stephen J. Cangemi and he preceded her in death on August 20, 1996.

Mrs. Cangemi had worked as a secretary at National Fuel Gas.

Joan was a member of St. Stephen’s Church, the Rosary Society and the Catholic Daughters of the Americas.

She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

She is survived by the following nieces and nephews.

Jim & Dave Bruce, Karen Stanton, Kim Radford , Kathy Welch and Jim & Christopher Blaney

Carol Russell, Donna Madras, Tim, Kevin, Dennis and Sharon Clifford, Lori Clifford-Hacker

Joan Sabo, James Smith and Mary Beth Smith

She was preceded in death by four sisters

Charlotte Blaney, Dorothea Bruce, Lavonne Clifford and Geraldine Smith, a brother, James Smith, And a nephew, Michael Smith.

Their will be no viewing or visitation.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday in St. Stephen’s Church with Fr. Matthew Ruyechan, Pastor, Presiding.

Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to St. Stephen’s Second Century Fund.

The Reinsel Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
