Oil City Man Jailed for Allegedly Assaulting 4-Month-Old Baby

OIL CITY, Pa. (EYT) — An Oil City man was jailed for allegedly assaulting a 4-month-old child.

According to Oil City Police, Scott A. Heckathorne, 24, of Oil City, is being brought up on two counts of Aggravated Assault on a Child and two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

These charges stem from an investigation into injuries consisting of a fractured leg and fractured arm to a four-month-old female child, police say.

The incident allegedly occurred on April 5 around 10:33 p.m. on North Street in Oil City.

Heckathorne was arraigned by District Judge Snyder and placed in the Venango County Jail in lieu of $75,000 bail.

A preliminary hearing is set for April 23 at 1:30 p.m.
