Hickory Twp., Pa. (EYT) — Marienville-based State Police say around 4:50 a.m. on April 15, a two-vehicle accident occurred on State Route 62 north, 1/2 mile east of Little Hickory Road, in Hickory Township, Forest County.

According to police, Brandon L. Dolby, 28, of Tionesta, was traveling north on State Route 62, and due to existing weather conditions, heavy rain and fog, he did not see two boulders and a large ice block in the roadway until the last moment.

Police say Dolby tried to avoid the boulders and ice by swerving right, which in doing so, he lost control of his 2004 Hyundai Accent GL on the wet roadway.

The vehicle traveled northeast spinning clockwise off the east side of the roadway where the left side of the vehicle impacted the rock embankment, police say.

After impact, the vehicle continued to travel northwest, spinning clockwise and coming to rest in the northbound lane with the front end facing east.

Neither Dolby or his passenger, Michael Troup, 31, of Tionesta, were injured.

They were both using seat belts.

Tionesta Ambulance assisted at the scene.
