Member_136035John W. Klem, 68, of Maple Road, Oil City, President Township, died unexpectedly of natural causes on Saturday afternoon, June 28, 2014, at the home of his neighbor.

John was born in McKees Rocks on September 15, 1945. He was the son of the late John W. and Mary Stortecky Klem.

Mr. Klem had been employed for more than twenty years at Daily Moving & Storage in Avalon. He had also been employed as a furniture maker and a bricklayer.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran and served aboard the USS Waldron.

He was of the Roman Catholic faith and was a member of St. Joseph Church in Oil City.

John enjoyed hunting, walking in the woods, riding his quad, and splitting wood. He most especially enjoyed time spent with his grandchildren, and helping others.

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie L. Sloneker Klem, whom he married in St. Joseph Church in McKees Rocks on December 17, 1976.

His children survive, Patty Ann Hack, John W. Klem, Jr., John W. Paul Klem and his wife Kelly, Kim Wisneski and her husband Ron, and Robert J. Finney; eight grandsons and three granddaughters; a great-grandson and a great-granddaughter; his sister, Pauline Aurin and her husband Donald of Aliquippa; as well as a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William P. Lockerbie; and three sisters, Marcia Cinkan, Helen Richie, and Rosey Kauffler.

Friends will be received Monday (July 7th) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Hile-Best Funeral Home, Inc., 2781 Rte. 257 in Seneca, Cranberry Township. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday (July 8th) at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 35 Pearl Ave. in Oil City, with the Rev. Justin P. Pino, church pastor, officiating.

Interment with full military honors accorded by the VETS Honor Guard will follow at Brandon Cemetery in Cranberry.
