Clarence “Skeeter” A. Mealy

Clarence “Skeeter” A. Mealy, 87, of Wolf’s Corners, Tionesta passed away on July 3, 2014 at McKinley Health Center in Brookville, after a brief illness.

Born on June 8, 1927 on the family farm at Wolf’s Corners, he was the son of Merle M. and Emma M. Wagner Mealy. He lived his entire life on the family farm.

He attended the one room Washington School. Clarence was a member of Washington Chapel Church at Frills Corners. He most recently attended the Tionesta Church of God.

On November 19, 1949 Clarence was married to the former Jeane F. Zuendel Mealy in Tionesta. She preceded him in death on February 9, 2007.

Skeeter was a farmer and well known carpenter in the area working with his brother Forrest Mealy. He later founded Mealy Construction with his sons Randy and Rick Mealy.

He was a life long director of the Wolf’s Corners Fair Association. This year marks the 74th year for the July 4th fair and Skeeter attended every year until this year. He was also a member of the Washington Cemetery Association. He enjoyed gardening and working with his grandson, Todd E. Beichner at auctions every Saturday for 22 years.

He is survived by his four children: Carolyn Gresham, Randy Mealy, Rick Mealy and wife Lynn, Pam Bish and husband Rick, all of Tionesta.
Two grandchildren Todd E. Beichner of Fryburg; Stacey J. Magness and husband Toby of New Bethlehem. Also surviving are five great grandchildren: Laiken, Logan, Sarah, Wyatt, and Sadie; a sister Lulu Martin of Ocean View DE, sisters-in-law Doris “Ruth” Mealy, Virginia Patrick, Mary Lee Lehman, Margaret Rumbaugh. Special friends include Joe and Linda Plesniak of Harmony, Chuck and Bernice Janke of Tionesta, a special niece Barb Allio, and many nieces and nephews.

Clarence is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and four brothers: , Harvey, Allen, Forrest and Raymond Mealy and son-in-law Dean Gresham.

Friends will be received on Sunday, July 6, 2014 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at Faller Funeral Home, Inc in Fryburg.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 am on Monday, July 7, 2014 at Faller Funeral Home, Inc. in Fryburg with Rev. Randy Evans Clarion-Forest VNA Hospice Chaplain officiating.

Interment will be in the Washington Church Cemetery following the service.

Memorial contributions may be made to Washington Cemetery Assoc. or Wolf’s Corners Fair Gazebo Fund, both at 2490 Lake Lucy Rd., Tionesta, Pa 16353.
