Darryl Wayne Ferry Sr., 54 of Saegertown, died Thursday, July 3, 2014 at the Crawford County Care Center after a 1 year illness. Born August 15, 1959 in Meadville, he was the son of Charles and Pearl Deeter Ferry.

Darryl worked for ConAir in Franklin and for the past 16 years he had been working for Salt Painting.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching the Pittsburgh Steelers and even though he was independent and quiet, he enjoyed people and was always willing to lend a hand.

Survivors include his father Charles of Cooperstown, two sons, Michael Grove and his fiancée Tonya of Oil City and Darryl Ferry Jr. and his fiancée Heather of Saegertown. A step daughter, Shannon Peterson of Rocky Grove and a step son, Scotty Peterson and his fiancée Tasha of Cooperstown. Two sisters, Brenda Stevenson and her husband Larry of Franklin and Darlene Card and her husband Anthony of Cooperstown, and two step sisters, Mary Frye and her husband Tom of Hannaville and Shirley Cramer and her husband Bob of Sugar Creek. Two grandchildren, Justin Grove and Kayne Denny, 4 step grandchildren and his former wife Erma Ferry of Rocky Grove.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Pearl Ferry, step mother, Alice Ferry, a brother Ronald (Peach) Ferry and a step brother, William Stevenson.

Friends will be received at the Dickson Family Funeral Home, Inc., 123 S. Franklin St. Cochranton on Monday from 4:00pm until 6:00pm. The funeral service will be 6:00pm at the funeral home with the Rev. David Brumagin, officiating.
