Motorcyclist Injured in Crash in Madison Township

MADISON TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) — Clarion-based State Police say around 6:30 p.m. on July 4, a motorcycle accident occurred on Lawsonham Road (State Route 2009), approximately .2 mile south of Traister Road, in Madison Township, Clarion County.

According to police, 55-year-old Kenneth A Zalus, of Sarver, was traveling south on SR 2009. As he was traveling downhill on his 2009 Honda Silverwing, he failed to negotiate a turn to the left.

His motorcycle traveled onto the western berm and struck the guard rail. After impact, the motorcycle turned onto its side and came to rest within the right lane of SR 2009.

Zalus was transported by a personal vehicle to Armstrong Memorial Hospital for moderate injuries sustained in the collision.

He was wearing a motorcycle helmet.
