Countless lead changes between three drivers in the final laps of the feature had fans on their feet. When the checkers flew it was Indiana invader, Logan Rupp, who came out on top scoring the first BOSS win of his career. Fans saw 31 lead changes between five drivers in the 25 lap feature showing how close the racing is when the wingless sprints are in town.

After leading early, Jack Sodeman Jr., crossed the line in fourth place making him the highest finishing Lernerville regular against the BOSS invaders.

On Saturday, the series made its first ever visit to America’s Raceway Park in Clearfield where a huge crowd turned out to see Brandon Spithaler score his first victory of the season.

Both Lernerville and America’s Raceway Park will be back in action this weekend with regular shows.

At Mercer Raceway Park Saturday, it was Eric “Turkey” Williams scoring his first sprint car win of the season while Kyle Fink of Clarion continued his consistent season with another modified win.

This weekend at Mercer the modifieds will take center stage as the BRP Modified Tour will invade to take on the Mercer regulars on Saturday and Sunday evening.

All of Mercer’s regular classes will be in action both days with the exception of the sprint cars.

The Penn-Ohio Pro Stock Championship Series will also be in competition on Sunday. With the Sprint cars off from Mercer Saturday they will head south to the monster half mile Pittsburgh Motor Speedway on Saturday. The sprints brought a nice field during their last visit to the big half mile and are always exciting hitting some of the fastest speeds of the season there. Recent winners at Pittsburgh include Ed Lynch Jr, Danny Holtgraver, and Carl Bowser.

When he’s not racing with the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, Jimmy Weller still likes to play in the dirt. Saturday he was back at Sharon Speedway where he dominated the big block modified feature for surprisingly his first ever modified at the Hartford oval. Sharon Speedway will be closed this Saturday for the Trumbull County Fair but will be back in action the following Saturday with another regular show.

Sportsman’s Speedway was back in action Sunday where George Hobaugh won the 305 sprint feature with a last lap pass and Jimmy Holden bested Kyle Fink for the modified win. Sportsman’s will be in action again this Sunday with another regular five division show.

On the national scene, the World of Outlaws late models had the weekend while the sprint cars visited Dodge City Raceway in Kansas where defending Outlaw champion Daryn Pittman swept both nights of action in his Kasey Kahne owned mount. The World of Outlaws will gear up for the Kings Royal at Tony Stewart’s Eldora Speedway this weekend, one of the biggest sprint car races of the season.

Speedweeks wrapped up over the weekend and saw former World of Outlaws regular Lucas Wolfe earn the Pennsylvania Speedweek title while Dale Blaney’s dominating performance earned him the Ohio Speedweek title.
