Betty Mae Welsh, 83, of Mayport, died Sunday morning, July 6, at the McKinley Health Center in Brookville. She was born on January 10, 1931 in Mayport, and was the daughter of Harry Dwight and Matilda J. (Getz) Welsh.

Betty worked for Owens Illinois, Rola Jensen and Sylvania. She belong to the Herb Quest in Knox and Camera Club in Brookville.

She is survived by a sister, Lois Jane Smith of Brookville; a brother, Harry E. Welsh and his wife Elmo of Brookville; a niece, Trudy Beekman of Minnesota; and five nephews, Denny Smith of Hawthorn, Larry Welsh of Indiana (State), Bobby Smith of Hawthorn, David Welsh of Sheffield, and Tim Welsh of Brookville.

Betty was preceded in death by both parents, an infant sister, and a brother-in-law, Robert A. Smith.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 8, from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 at the Alcorn Funeral Home in Hawthorn. The funeral service will be on Wednesday, July 9, at 11:oo am at the funeral home with Pastor Roger Snyder from the Hawthorn Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will be in the Hawthorn Cemetery.
