John Junkin Francis

b906f5f44ed72495John Junkin Francis, 93, of Chandler, Arizona, formerly of Clintonville passed away July 4, 2014 in Arizona where he would spend his winter months.

He passed away peacefully at his home.

Born April 13, 1921 in New Wilmington Pa he was the son of Joseph Junkin Francis and Frances Dight Francis.

John graduated from New Wilmington Area High School, after graduating he served in the United States Army in WWII. He spent the majority of his service in Alaska. John married the former Juantia D. O’Riliey on August 21, 1948, she proceeded him death. John retired from driving truck not only for himself but for other local and over the road companies. John enjoyed spending his summers at his home on Dog Hollow Rd. He spent the last 20 years on his little plot of land called the Havice pumping his oil lease and keep the property maintained. Cutting trees and keeping the property mowed brought him great joy. John traveled back and forth to Arizona up until his 90th birthday.

Surviving are his children Linda Rosati and her husband Joseph of Maryland, William Francis of Arizona, Joseph Francis and his wife Debbie of Franklin and Juanita “Babe” Francis of Arizona,
10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren, and sister Helen Donaldson of Arizona.

He was proceeded by his parents, wife, a daughter Mary Helen Francis, and a brother Joseph J. Francis.

Family will receive friends at the Larry E. McKinley Funeral Home, 109 Emlenton Street, Clintonville PA on Friday, July 11, 2014 from 2-4 and 6-8.

A graveside service will take place Neshannak Presbyterian Cemetery on Saturday July 12, 2014 at 11:00 am with the Pastor Lonny Wolford officiating from the Fox Street Church of God in Franklin.
