11-Year-Old Girl Hurt After Jumping from Buggy on Route 208

SALEM TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) — According to Clarion-based State Police, an 11-year-old girl was injured after she jumped from a buggy on State Route 208 westbound, by the Beaver Ponds, in Salem Township, Clarion County.

Police say 24-year-old Rudy L. Swartzentrubert, of Knox, lost control of his horse team on SR 208 near the Beaver Creek Ponds.

The team of horses were spooked after a piece of harness hit one of the horses and caused the buggy to become out of control, according to police.

Four of the occupants jumped from the buggy. An 11-year-old girl landed on her ankle wrong, causing the ankle to break, police say.

Knox EMT’s transported her to Clarion Hospital for further treatment.

No other injuries were reported.

– an 11-year-old female, of Greenville

– 20-year-old William Miller, of Greenville

– 21-year-old Harvey Troyer, of New Waterford, Pa.
– 18-year-old Cora Troyer, of New Waterford, Pa.
