VENANGO COUNTY, Pa. (EYT) — According to police, a Clarion teen escaped injuries in a crash that occurred around 3:20 p.m. on July 17, on Oneida Valley Road (State Route 38), in Scrubgrass Township, Venango County.

Franklin-based State Police say 18-year-old Chase F. Alcorn, of Clarion, was involved in the collision.

Police say Alcorn was traveling south on SR 38 when he encountered a vehicle in front of him stopped to make a left turn onto Interstate 80 East. Alcorn could not slow in time a steered to the right, so he would not hit the other vehicle.

His 2010 Dodge Avenger went onto the shoulder and struck a temporary detour sign along the roadside.

Alcorn was using a seat belt and was not injured.

He was charged with a traffic violation.
