Roy G. Weaver, Jr., age 84, of Emlenton, passed away Thursday afternoon, July 17, 2014 at Golden Living Center in Shippenville.

Born June 13, 1930 in Chester, West Virginia, he was a son of the late Roy G. Weaver, Sr. and Twila Barris Weaver.

Roy was engaged in farming all of his life and had also been employed by the PA Department of Highways, Boise Cascade Corp. and retired from Glass Containers Corp.

He served on the Richland Agricultural Committee and as a Democratic Party Committee person. He was a loyal voter, receiving a certificate for voting in every election.

Roy attended the New Zion Evangelical Congregational Church in Emlenton (Mariasville) and the United Methodist Church in Van.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews: Evelyn Spence, Patricia Ashbaugh, Thomas Weaver, Esther Weaver, Joyce Schwab, Marsha Marasco, Richard Weaver, Ruth Aites, Becky Ritchey, Earl Weaver and Bruce Weaver.

In addition to his parents, Roy was preceded in death by his twin brother, Charles and brothers and sisters, Jay, Harold, Earl,Dorothy and Helen and a nephew, John Weaver.

Family and friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, July 20, 2014 at the William N. Rupert Mortuary, Inc., 430 Mendenhall Avenue, Knox.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 21, 2014 in the funeral home with the Reverend Gary Brown officiating over the service.

Interment will follow in the Zion Union Cemetery, Emlenton.
