VENANGO COUNTY, Pa. (EYT) — Police say an incident of Theft by Deception occurred in the Pleasantville area, in Oil Creek Township, Venango County.

According to Franklin-based State Police, 32-year-old Ryan Matthew Young, of Pleasantville, and 22-year-old Hannah Elizabeth Allen, of Titusville, initially arrived at a known 82-year-old Titusville woman’s residence in February of this year. The duo made a total of approximately 20 visits by which they convinced the elderly woman to give them a total of $2,312.02 through various tales of woe.

Young did not provide the victim with his correct name, and when the victim became aware of this, she no longer provided the perpetrator(s), rather demanding that the money be repaid as the perpetrator(s) allegedly had promised to do, police say.

The perpetrator(s) have since stopped contact with the victim, according to police.

The incident occurred between February and June of 2014.

Charges of Felony Theft by Deception and Conspiracy to Commit Theft by Deception for both Young and Allen have been forwarded to District Court Office 28-3-01 pending arraignment of both individuals.
