Member_136713Harold E. “Bud” Hall, 90, of Big Bend Rd., Emlenton, went to be with the Lord at 6:13 p.m. Sunday, July 20, 2014, while in hospice care at the Butler VA Community Living Center.

Harold was born in Big Bend on Goshen Rd. on July 6, 1924. He was the son of Harry C. and Maude Robinson Hall.

Bud was a 1942 graduate of Emlenton High School. He was a longtime active member of the Big Bend United Methodist Church where he served for many years as Sunday School Superintendent, Sunday School teacher, and church trustee. Bud was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Navy and was a radioman aboard a bomber. He served in Guam, the Philippines, and the Titran Islands. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, woodworking, gardening, and building model cars and airplanes. Bud was proud that he had built the house where he and his wife reside. He retired in 1986 following 35 years of service at Cooper Bessemer in Grove City.

Bud is survived by his wife, S. Kay Swineford Hall, whom he married in Summerville on December 23, 1952. Also surviving are three daughters, Cindy R. Flemming and her husband, Verle, of Emlenton, D. Colleen Cinert and her husband, William, of Lisle, IL, and Cheryl L. Caldwell and her husband, William, of Grove City; ten grandchildren survive, Jason Flemming and his wife, Kelly, of Waynesboro, Kevin Flemming and his wife, Tanya, of Pine Grove, Aaron Flemming and his wife, Sarah, of Dillsburg, Laurie Patton and her husband, Michael, of Oswego, IL, Kimberly Youssef and her husband, Sam, of Clarendon Hills, IL, Bryan Cinert of Willowbrook, IL, Terri Masiak and her husband, Jay, of Montana, Michael Cinert of Lisle, IL, and Andrew and Phillip Caldwell of Grove City; ten great grandchildren, Nathan, Alexis, Mathew, Emma, Emily, Ian, Ethan, McKenzie, Jonathon, and Abbie, as well as a number of brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two grandsons, Alexander Caldwell and Shane Cinert; a brother, Arthur Hall, and three sisters, Ruth Hall, Hazel King, and Pearl Moon.

Friends will be received at the Hile Funeral Home Inc., 1204 Kerr Ave., Emlenton, from 2 — 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 -11 a.m. Thursday at the Big Bend United Methodist Church.

A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Kent O’Neil, church pastor, officiating.

Interment with military honors will be in Big Bend Cemetery.
