Vehicle Slams into Utility Pole to Avoid Deer, Driver Escapes Injury

KNOX TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) — According to Clarion-based State Police, around 11:34 p.m. on July 20, a one-vehicle accident occurred on State Route 66, at Gatesman Auto Body, in Knox Township, Clarion County.

Police say this crash occurred as 35-year-old Timothy J. Peters, of Marienville, was traveling north on SR 66, and two deer entered the roadway from the east side in front of his 1999 Ford Econoline 350.

Peters swerved to avoid the deer and impacted a utility pole on the western side of the roadway, according to police.

He was using seat belt and was not injured.

He was charged with a traffic violation, police say.
