150x243-2866946Howard Fenton Wyncoop, Jr, 76, of Cumming, Georgia died peacefully on July 10, 2014, with family members at his side.

He was born September 1, 1937 in New Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

Howard was a graduate of Penn State University with a degree in Mining Engineering. He started a career in phosphate mining that spanned forty- five years, retiring from Mobil Mining and Cargill Industries. He was instrumental in the design of several Florida phosphate mines and processing plants. Though he spent the majority of his career in central Florida, he took advantage of opportunities to work and live in Utah and China. Howard loved to travel, enjoying the history, culture and cuisine of different parts of the United States and throughout the world.

Howard was preceded in death by his parents, Fenton and Kathryn Wyncoop of Clarion, Pennsylvania. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Toni; brother and sister-in-law David and Carole Wyncoop of Midlothian, VA; son and daughter-in-law Howard and Wendy Wyncoop of Lakeland, FL; daughter Susan Cormier of Cumming, GA; step-son and wife Todd and Sally Butler of Catania, Sicily; step-daughter Amanda Williams of Cumming, GA, and step-son and wife Robert and Jessica Butler of Pensacola, FL. He is also survived by grandchildren Amy Gray, Alison Butler, John Williams, Skye Butler, Howie Wyncoop, Guy Butler, Koby Cormier, Macon Wyncoop, and Gabe Butler and great- grandchildren Bailey, Summer and Clint Gray.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at First United Methodist Church, 72 Lake Morton Drive, Lakeland, Florida at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers tribute gifts may be made in Howard’s name to Smile Train, www.smiletrain.org or 800-932-9541.
