BURCHFIELDrobertRobert A. Burchfield, 75, a resident of 242 Seysler Road, Franklin died at 8:13 PM Friday, July 25, 2014 in UPMC-Northwest in Seneca; following a period of declining health.

He was born in Franklin March 18, 1939 a beloved son of the late: Samuel G. and Viola Poulson Burchfield.

He was a 1958 graduate of Rocky Grove High School.

He proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Navy during the Cuban Missile Crisis aboard The Aircraft Carrier: U.S.S. WASP.

Mr. Burchfield had worked for more than 30 years as a delivery driver for United Parcel Service; retiring from there in 1996. He had also formerly worked as a surveyor for PennDOT.

He was a member of The Oil City Moose Club, The Venango County Coon and Fox Club; and was formerly a member of both The Franklin Eagle’s Club and the Rocky Grove Volunteer Fire Department.

Bob enjoyed travelling with his wife and many friends in their RV across the country. He was a frequent visitor to Linda Lou’s Restaurant in Franklin on Thursday mornings for coffee and breakfast with friends. He enjoyed his many visits to Dunlap Sales and Service where he visited with his friends there. He was an avid outdoorsman and hunter in his earlier years as his health permitted.

He was married April 16, 1960 to the former: Janet L. Parker; who survives.

In addition to his beloved wife of 54 years, he is survived by a daughter: Teresa L. Gregory and her husband Jeff of Franklin and by a son: Timothy W. Burchfield also of Franklin; also surviving is his grandson: Ryan Patrick Gregory of Franklin, whom he was always most proud. He enjoyed attending Ryan’s baseball games from his Little League years until the present day.

Also surviving is his brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Larry Parker and his wife Bobbie of Canyon Lake, TX; in addition to many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother: William Burchfield and by his close brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Bob and Mary Lou Gilmore.

Friends may call Monday 4-8 PM in the Timothy E. Hartle Funeral Home, 1328 Elk Street, Franklin.

Friends may also call Tuesday 11 AM until 12 NOON in the funeral home; where funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 12 NOON with Reverend Sue Nageotte of the Rocky Grove Avenue Presbyterian Church, officiating. Immediately following the funeral services, full military burial rites will be accorded by the V.E.T.S. Funeral Honor Guard of Franklin at the funeral home.
