FOX TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT)– Ridgway-based State Police report a fatal motorcycle accident occurred around 6:37 p.m. on July 28 on SR 948 in Fox Township, Elk County.

According to police, the crash occurred as David M. Terwilliger, 38, of Saint Marys, was traveling north on Shelvey Summit Road on his 2013 Harley-Davidson motorcycle.

Police say Terwilliger lost control of his motorcycle approximately 1804 feet west of West Main Street Ext. and exited the roadway.

The motorcycle struck an embankment, became airborne, rolled multiple times, and ejected Terwilliger from the motorcycle.

Terwilliger was not wearing a helmet and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.

Police were assisted at the scene by the Elk County Coroner, the Fox Township Fire Department, the Fox Township Ambulance, and D&T Towing.
