KNOX, Pa. (EYT) — A fundraiser will be held to benefit local, Jeff Allaman, on August 3, 2014 at Sportsman’s Speedway.

Allaman has an incurable disease called familial amyloidosis. In those with the disease, deposits of the protein amyloid accumulate in various organs and tissues, eventually causing them to shut down.

The life expectancy for someone with familial amyloidosis is five to 15 years, and there is a 50% chance of children inheriting the disease.

The fundraiser will include a Chinese auction, a 50-50 raffle, bike races, games and prizes for kids, a bake sale, face painting, and much more.

Sportsman’s Speedway is located on Huckleberry Ridge Road just off of Route 208 in Elk City between Knox and Shippenville, Pa.
