Jeanne Galey, 68, of Marienville, died Tuesday evening, July 30, 2014 at Clarion Hospital.

Born September 23, 1946 in Tarentum, PA, she was the daughter of James and Margorie Galey.

Jeanne graduated from Portland High School in Portland, CT. She especially enjoyed watching NASCAR, the Pittsburgh Penguins, and American Pickers.

She attended the Marienville United Methodist Church, and was a faithful and loyal member of the Marienville Volunteer Fire Company and Fire Police for 30 years; was a member of Clarion County Fire Police Association for 25 years and the Pennsylvania Fire Police Association for 25 years.

Surviving are a brother, James Galey and his wife, Rita, of Coventry, CT and two sisters, Margorie Galey of Falls Church, VA; and Lynn dee Galey and Mike Sheffler of Netawaka, KS.

Additional survivors include two nieces, Laura and Grace Galey; two nephews, Jimmy and Jack Galey; and cousins, Don and Judy Christy and Gary and Margaret Christy

In addition to her parents, Jeanne was preceded in death, earlier the same day, by her beloved dog, Daisy May.

A public celebration of Jeanne’s life will be held Tuesday evening, August 5, 2014 from 6-8pm at the Ronald McDonald Funeral Home in Marienville. A private committal service will be held at the convenience of the family at North Forest Cemetery in Marienville.

Memorials, if desired, may be made in Jeanne’s name to the Marienville Volunteer Fire Company.
